English Language Learning at American School of Wrocław

At ASW, learning English is the cornerstone of our educational program. We place a strong emphasis on language skills, which are essential for success in an international environment. Our English curriculum is tailored to our pupils’ age and covers all aspects of the language: speaking, listening, reading, and writing

As part of the MYP (for students aged 11–16), students engage in English learning at a level suited to their individual needs and abilities. This program focuses on developing communication skills in an academic context while also preparing students for challenges in international education.

Within the MYP framework, students develop:

  • Speaking and Writing Skills –

The MYP program places particular emphasis on the ability to communicate in English in various contexts, from formal to more casual settings.

  • Text Comprehension –

Students learn to analyze literary and non-literary texts, broadening their knowledge of Anglo-speaking literary traditions and cultures.

  • Preparation for International Exams –

The MYP program prepares students for internationally recognized language certificates, such as Cambridge English and IELTS, as well as more advanced stages of English language learning.

For older students, starting in grade 11, we offer the IB DP program, which is recognized worldwide as one of the highest educational standards. The IB DP integrates academic subjects with the study of English in an international context, providing students with comprehensive preparation for studying at universities around the world.
